In responding to national planning policy consultations, Planning Aid Wales aims to identify potential policy barriers to meaningful public involvement. We work from the principle that improving public understanding of the planning process and encouraging community involvement from the outset of any planning activity inevitably leads to better planning. Properly managed public involvement improves confidence in the planning system, reduces conflict and improves outcomes.
