Planning Aid Wales is proud to announce the launch of a new research report that sets out to explore and demonstrate the value of engagement in the working of planning in Wales, with the goal of proposing a path to embedding best-practice engagement in the Welsh planning system.

On the 24th September 2020, Julie James, Minister for Housing and Local Government launched the new Placemaking Wales Charter at the Welsh Planner Live Conference. Planning Aid Wales is pleased to confirm it is a signatory to the Charter and commits the organisation to the principles and to support Placemaking across Wales.

This work is supported by Welsh Government and our findings and recommendations will be considered by the Welsh Government’s Planning Division.
Senedd Cymru / Welsh Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee undertook an inquiry into the effectiveness of local planning authorities in Wales.
Our new flagship online course ‘Planning: From Start to Finish’ has been produced specifically for Town and Community Councils in Wales. This course is a perfect introduction to or refresher on all aspects of the planning system in Wales.
