Volunteer Survey
Invitation
We are inviting you to a study, conducted online, which will evaluate volunteer’s reasons for joining Planning Aid Wales. The study will evaluate volunteers’ perceptions and take into account any needs that they may have to develop their skills.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Purpose of the study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate volunteers’ reasons for joining the charity. This includes individuals’ motivations, skills and interests. The study will also look at why volunteers stay on with us and their training needs. The results will help inform future recruitment of volunteers and how we retain them. To do this we need your help with feedback.
Why have I been invited?
This invite has been sent to volunteers of Planning Aid Wales.
Consent
This study will be conducted online using our own website and therefore adheres to the UK national data protection regulations, both the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation.
This study will be conducted in an entirely anonymised fashion if preferred – what does this mean for you?
- You can commence the survey in your own time – your name or email address will NEVER be traced, tracked, or collected if you prefer. No paper-based consent forms will be provided or collected.
- If you have doubts or if you do not wish to participate, then there is no onus to do so.
Will my participation be confidential?
This study will ask about your experience as a volunteer for PAW, this does include your name and email address, although you can leave this blank if you prefer. Questions will be general and will NEVER interfere with your privacy rights or your right to confidentiality. In rare cases some questions required for statistical analysis might interfere with your privacy rights; this is related to the small size of the charity.
While you are strongly encouraged to be open and honest about your experience as a volunteer, throughout the survey, you can change some or all answers to N/A or ‘prefer not to say’, if you prefer.
What will happen to the results of the research study?
Only we will have access to the raw data, which will be stored, unprocessed in a protected folder. The raw data will then be analysed, resulting in processed data. Only processed, analysed data will be not be shared or published, thus protecting your privacy.
Processed/analysed data may also be published. If required, data will be ‘adjusted’ to remove all identifiable bias so none of the participants can be indirectly identified from the data presented in the final report.
What are the possible benefits and disadvantages and risks of taking part?
Your feedback and suggestions will feed into the final report with recommendations on recruiting and retaining volunteers to the charity in the future.
Who can I contact to discuss the survey further?
Please contact Deb Jeffreys for further information.
We really appreciate you taking time to complete the survey and help us to better understand how you can be supported in the valuable work that you do.
